Hi nevertoolate,

I don't buy canned vegetables that have sugar as an ingredient, but you can find canned vegetables that don't have sugar. Some of them have salt as an ingredient, and some you can find with no salt even. Learning to shop for this new way of eating is a little time consuming in the beginning, but you'll get used to it and it'll go faster the longer you're abstinent. Congratulations on surrendering the Cremora~ that's a big step!

Keep coming, keep sharing, nevertoolate. I'm so glad you're here! :chuncky:

Warmly,

Hi nevertoolate,

I like to use the canned vegetables that are sugar free occasionally also and I've found that rinsing them of the excess salt really does allow the natural flavors of vegetable to be tasted; and I feel better following a "heart healthy" low sodium food plan. My circulation problems seem to be less of an issue now. It did take me a while to get used to the taste of plain vegetables and I'm glad that I stuck with it.

Sometimes I do used dried onion or a cut up whole onion when cooking some frozen vegetables or cook fresh vegetables in clean chicken broth or veg broth for some added flavor. I like to do this to add some variety, rather than trying to get away from the natural taste of the vegetables.
