Does anyone use skype to go to phone meetings?

I have only a cell phone and am on my son's family plan with very limited numbers I can call free, just family....so if I want to do phone meets, which I really do, how can I do it....anyone use skype and how do you do it?????

I use skype to call in every day. Its not perfect but it works. Do you have a skype account? Might be an idea to get someone to show you, a friend or even in an internet cafe :)

So what do you do? set up some kind of account? does it cost much? Do you know how to walk someone through this? I already have an account that I use to speak with friends overseas. I have never added cash to this account. Will I need to do that in order to access the phone meetings?

I have had an interesting situation with my phone. Early in program I was advised suddenly by the land line phone company that I couldn't use their service (supossedly unlimited free long distance) that was part of our package. So eventually I came up with an alternative plan. Using my cell phone I have the phone meeting number listed as one of the special numbers, so I can go to meetings as much as I need withour incurring any extra minutes or charges. However I did run this by the cell phone company as I didn't want to loose that capability yet again.

That's what my son did for me, I'm on his phone plan, and he listed the FAA num ber as one of their special num bers on their A list...

I know an FAA member in Canada that uses Skype to come to FAA phone meetings, so it can be done. I don't know all the details of Skype for this application, though. I'm pretty sure that you need to pay a small monthly fee to have the service, and that if you look around the Skype site, you should be able to find the information you need. Good luck!
