The FAA Loop is a 24/7 Internet meeting hosted by Yahoo Groups. You sign up for the Loop and can send and receive email shares on various topics of recovery. There is a new leader each week who selects the topics and shares on them. Then other members of the Loop read the shares and can choose to share on the topics or just read. You can get an email sent each time someone posts a Loop share, or you can get a "digest" form. With the digest, one email comes (usually once a day) with several email shares included in it. This cuts down on the number of emails coming to your inbox, but you don't receive them in as timely a way as when you choose the individual emails. As you can see, there are benefits to each way of getting your Loop shares. The FAA Loop is considered an FAA meeting, so no crosstalk or using non-FAA literature is allowed. You can sign up for the FAA Loop here:

The FAA Chat Room is a place where you can come and meet with other FAA members, both new and with time in recovery. The interactions are in "real time"; that is, when someone writes something and then presses "send", the message is seen by others in the Chat Room right away. The FAA Chat Room has two Online Meetings each week (these are "regular" FAA meetings): Saturdays at 11:00am EST is a Beginner's Meeting, and Sundays at 1:00pm EST is a regular Online Meeting, usually based on the FAA meditation book, "Food for the Soul".
Also in the Chat Room are three Open Chats for Newcomers (and anyone else who'd like to come!) each week. This is a good time to ask any questions you might have and get an immediate response. It's also a good time to interact with other FAA members. These are informal chats, and not "official" FAA meetings, so crosstalk (responding directly to what someone has said) is allowed, and also brand names of food are OK to mention, as well as non-FAA literature. The Open Chats are currently held on Tuesdays at 9:00pm EST, Thursdays at 7:00am EST, and Fridays at 9:00pm EST. You can get into the Chat Room here:

F (http://client11.addonchat.com/sc.php?id=270505)AA's Online Support (known to some as a "message board") is where you can share, ask questions, read other people's sharing, etc. Online Support is not a formal FAA meeting, but rather has an atmosphere of a "parking lot meeting", or a "meeting-after-the-meeting". You may ask any questions related to food addiction and recovery that you'd like here.
The Online Support forums are not based in "real-time". A person who starts a topic is starting a "thread". The original comment and all replies in the thread are known as "posts". Someone may see your post immediately, if they're here in Online Support when you type it and post it, or they can see it sometime in the future. Older threads go to the Archives to be saved after a certain amount of time. If you'd like to see older threads, you can go to the bottom of the individual forum and look under "Thread Display Options". There are several options you can choose from, all self-explanatory.
If you have any questions on this, please respond to this thread.
Thank you,
