Welcome Newbie to FAA,
There is a beginner's online meeting on Sat at 11am Eastern (8am Pacific) in the FAA chat room. This meeting follows a regular format and there is time following the meeting for questions.
There is a newcomer phone meeting on Sunday at 6pm Eastern (3pm Pacific). This meeting has topics that are geared for newcomers and people share their contact information the last 5 minutes of the meeting and questions can also be asked at that time.
There are phone meetings daily and the listing can be found from the home page and they can be printed off. There is also a listing by state of the face-to-face (in person) meetings also.
Keep coming back - this way of life is not easy, but it's doable.

Welcome Balanced!
You are not alone. Most of us were out of control when we found our way to FAA, but speaking for myself, I was relieved more than I can say to learn that the reason I was so out of control (I KNEW I couldn't stop the bingeing I was doing, and I was very scared) is that, as a food addict, I have a biochemical illness to sugar/flour/wheat. When I put these substances in my body, I am compelled to keep eating. I have cravings and obsessions that I am powerless over.
When I came here I found that there was a food plan that helped me to get the sugar, flour & wheat out of my system. Shortly after getting onto the food plan, the cravings for those foods left me! That was only the first of many wonderful things that have happened since I've been in recovery from food addiction.
Come to some meetings, look around the website, take the test on the website to see if you, too, might be a food addict. If you think you are, come along with us, Balanced... the journey is really worthwhile!
