...over on the "Welcome" forum...wondering if this site is very active or if I just caught it on a down day. My questions were about fruit being full of sugar and whether it's advisable to go cold turkey with SFW vs easing into it by giving up one thing at a time. Is there anyone home on the Newcomer forum and if so, will you comment? Thanks!

Hi Trainer Girl...I too am new to this website, and have posted on one/two subjects.
Sugar is fruit, I am told, is a natural sugar, not like the white stuff we all know so well.
However, I believe that we dont have to eliminate fruit (see FAA food plan), but obviously not overload on it.
This site is very quiet!!!

Hi Ladies, found you two on the Welcome site and now am here, too. Yes, a very, very quiet site, I also have found, but still interesting. I've come to realize that the idea is to get to a meeting (phone or face-to-face) and find a sponsor that way, not here, as calling and talking in person is what gives the most support. Having said that, I haven't found one yet....not sure why, too shy? too lazy? too scared? not convinced I need one? unable to find a fellow vegan? Whatever, am still working on the program as best I can.

Welcome Newbies,

We are really glad that you have found us. And you are correct that the way to get more out of this program is by getting to the meetings and getting the names and numbers of those who say things you relate to. The link for the meeting information is on the home page of this website. We have all been in your shoes when we first started and we understand how scary it can be. It was a scary thought for me to even consider giving up sugar/flour/wheat and it has made such a big difference in my life. The relationships with those near and dear to me have improved, I've learned to set boundaries, I've learned to try pushing into new areas that feel uncomfortable for me and get me out of my comfort zone. None of this was possible when I was still using the food to push down the uncomfortable feelings. These forums are mostly a place where questions can be asked and we'll become more organized in answering them. Please keep coming back and try some of our phone meetings if there aren't any local face-to-face meetings in your area.
