Hi,

I am new to FAA. I have read everything I can on this disease and can relate to many of the symptoms. I have been abstinent for 2 weeks now and feel good but I need a sponsor as I know that the hardest part is yet to come. I am interested in the spiritual and emotional benefits abstence brings and that is the area in my life that I suffer from the most. Horrible mood swings, feelings of digust about myself and depression are a few amongst many of the feelings I experience daily. Please let me know if you would consider being my sponsor - I really need you. Thanks Vicky x

Hi Vicky,

Welcome to FAA! I related very much to what you said about suffering not only physically from the disease of food addiction, but also emotionally and spiritually. There are readings read at the beginning of phone meetings, and this sentence from one of them comes to mind:

Abstinence will open the door, and by working the Twelve Steps, we can recover from this disease.

Full recovery is possible, I want you to know that, Vicky. You have definitely come to the right place!

Best wishes,
TYG
