FAA has its own literature which is extremely helpful for food addicts in recovery. The FAA Green Book is the "text" for FAA. Food for the Soul is the daily meditation book written by FAA members for FAA members. The Annual Menu Planner & Journal is wonderful. There are boxes for a whole week on a page where you can plan out your food. Being able to see the whole week is a great tool for planning menus for ourselves. On the other side of each menu page is a journal where we can check off the things we've done each day (again, laid out for the whole week at a glance) for our recovery: meetings, phone calls with sponsor/FAA members, reading FAA literature, prayer & meditation, etc. The Newcomer's Booklet has the FAA food plan, sample menu plan, other FAA readings, and a sub-booklet called "Understanding Food Addiction and Why Abstinence is Necessary" (a nutritionist's perspective).
Literature and other recovery items are available on the FAA website under "Store" or by following this link:
If you have any questions about the literature, please feel free to call the World Service Office at 561-967-3871, or post your questions here in Online Support.
