Hello everyone! I am back. I have a new sponsor and a new food plan. My last food plan seemed to only allow me to maintain my weight and I was so discouraged, so here I am, back again and ready to rock and roll!! :)

    Sheila,

Welcome back to Food Addicts Anonymous, so glad you are here! You have already found a sponsor...that is wonderful. This is a we program! I know I couldn't do it alone! Keep coming back. Love to here you share how your recovery is progressing!

Tradition #3.The only requirement for FAA membership is a desire to stop eating addictive foods.
We come to FAA with nothing more than a desire to recover from the disease of food addiction. This desire will be supported by all those who are walking this path of recovery. We abstain from sugar, flour and wheat in all their forms. We avoid refined, processed carbohydrates. We help each other understand the complexity of learning to eat in a healthy way. We are not a weight loss or weight gain program. We do not judge each other’s abstinenceor the shape of our bodies. Instead, we continue to share ourselves and practice the spirit of humility. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings to learn about our fellowship.

I have had a tremendous amount of stress as of late with this gal who HATES me. It is really weird. I know I am powerless over it but now she has stooped to new levels telling a leader at our church she does not want her 8 yr old son on my son's team. (my son overheard this and was crushed.) This is so juvenile. :( But it still hurts my feelings. :(

Thanks for listening, any advice welcomed.
    Hi Shelia,
You asked for advice so I will give it, STOP reading now if you did not want an honest opinion: If this women really HATES you (for no reason), let her. If she dislikes you because you offened her, appologize knowing she has a right to accept or decline your appology. Find your own friends, don't get into her circle, and stop letting everyone know that someone HATES you. If you do this you will find that you will stop worring about it, and her. I say this with the assumption that you know that we all have people who do not like us. Nurture the friendships you have. Call up someone who likes you, and for Petes sake don't make them feel less worthy of your friendship by yaking on and on about this other women. Instead tell them how happy you are to have them in your life.
Now I say this as gentle as possible...Stop involving your child in your problems, they are too young for it and it will make them discontent. Is your 8 year old really crushed or is he reacting to what his mother shows him? It is my experience that 8 year olds do not get crushed much, unless someone tells them they should be. Don't assume here, do some soul searching. Is he crushed or are you crushed?

Best wishes for a successful recovery,
    Nancy

    Hi Nancy,

You are correct, I was crushed. He was only bummed when he told me in tears one night. I did some super deep soul searching over the past few days. Yes, I originally did do something to offend her, and now she is shunning me. She asked me and I apologized profusely and well, nothing...just shunning.

I really was unable to get any relief. I started an online course looking for an answer, I asked God to forgive me, I have talked about it way way way too much.

I found this cool little chart online tonight thou. I have printed it and put it in some stratigic places in my home. It says Gods thought, your or the devils thoughts. my husband told me to also every time it pops up on my head and the tape starts, I am to break the record and then turn it into a praise song to God. Isn't he sweet? I love my hubby. :)

Anyway.... thanks for your kind words. I do want to recover. I do know i have some bitterness...I am praying for it to leave me....completely...be free and have only love towards her. Interesting you said that about not being in her circle. While we do attend the same church, (it is BIG) Sundays go by and I do not even see her. Last sunday was the first sunday i didn't "look" for her. I used to "look" for her to see if she was there to see if I was "safe" or not. I also dropped out of leadership where her sister works cuz she too won't talk to me. So I am joining a womens bible study now that night. i promise not to tell ANOTHER SOUL. you are correct, people don't wanna hear it...it makes them uncomfortable or like something is wrong w/ YOU. I have talked waaay too much about it, but have NEVER told a soul who it was, save my family. NOT a soul cuz I don't want them to think of me as a gossip or see her in a different light. She and I used to be very good friends.

    Anyway.....thanks again Nancy.

As I read your share Nancy as well as so many others I am again reminded of the many processes we go through in our learning and teaching through this program which includes the steps.
I am so thankful for all of our literature, and want to wish you all well.

    Can't get back on track

Well, I had a great Christmas, but I lost my abstinence and now I am struggling to get back on my food plan. I do great all day long, then the evenings are very hard for me and I give in to the food.

    Hi Jill!

welcome to FAA! I am now back on day 2! whoohoo!

I am so glad to have 2 days under my belt. Last night I slept horrible, but today my hubby let me take a lil nap and it helped. (I run a daycare from home and that meant he had to watch the kids for 45 minutes) he is great w/ kids and I only have 3....they all did really great for him and I slept hard, so I felt much more refreshed.

I am hoping tonight I sleep good, but the good news is I have tomorrow OFF!
