:) I'm back! :)
:) I'm back! :)
I've been reading your story on this post and it's very inspiring because you have not quit. I need to get back on track again and the first steps are hardest. Beginning. Staying home and away from temptation, making sure I have enough good food in the house, planning ahead, going to online or phone meets, keeping up the contact with people and encouraging others, reading the lit, writing. It only takes about a week to get through withdrawal but it seems like forever. Today is day 1 again for the umpteenth time. I will never give up.
Best wishes to you Sheila and thanks so much for sharing.

I cannot even believe it but I have made it to day 21. Never ever ever have I ever made it this far before. My cravings are gone and I am never hungry!
This program is amazing!

I feel amazing and have made it to day 49! Whoohoo! I even went on a women's retreat and did not want any of their food, I packed up and brought all of my own. This program is amazing!

Praying to stay clean today.
Hi!
I'm new to FAA, happy I found the community and all the encouraging and inspiring stories. But I'm not sure where to begin. I'm overwhelmed with the conclusion that I've had a problem that I've ignored, tried to drown in pounds of twizzlers, for quite some time; and I'm overwhelmed by all the information and posts and threads and loops and forums... I started with reading about abstinence and asking for help from a higher power, but I can't get past day three. It all falls apart. And I'm frustrated, because I begin to feel good about myself, and about taking control of my choices, then I ruin it and it all comes crumbling down. How do I begin?
Well, tomorrow is another day and another opportunity
HI Twizzler - the most direct way to get started is to focus on the food plan. Get a piece of paper, and write down what you are going to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and metabolic. Then make sure you have the right foods in your house. And take it one meal at a time. Eat what you write down. Remember that withdrawal occurs during the first few days/weeks and can include headache, fatigue, nausea, aches and pains. It goes away, but you need to just get through it. Take it easy on yourself and drink a lot of water.
The next thing to do is connect with other food addicts in a meeting: face to face, phone, Loop. Hearing the experience of others, and sharing where you are in your journey is very inspiring. You may also hear someone you can relate to, so get their phone number and call them after a meetingl. This is the best way to find a sponsor. A sponsor will help you navigate the plan, supporting you as you move through various stages.
The meetings can be found on the home page of the FAA wedsite.
Keep coming back...Linda B
