Isn't it wonderful how we learn from each persons e/s/h around our addition, recovery and other issues as well. I always am interested in other opinions, and solutions to our problems. Thank you everyone who has shared. I learn every day.

It depends on how much water you drink. I drink between 14-17 8oz glasses of water per day. I can always tell when I haven't had enough water... Coffee is fine as long as its decaf. Reg coffee is a diuretic so you have to drink EVEN MORE water to replace what the coffee made you lose.

Can't get off the !@**$@!@ coffee yet. I think I'm going to start crossing off some of the stuff I've been eating (like way too much lettuce) and see if it helps....one food at a time for a few days....oat bran could be a culprit too, could turn to concrete as well as brown rice, sorry don't mean to be descriptive.....some of us oldsters have dentures which don't allow us to chew the way we should and all this veg stuff going in, well you get my point! have a great day

Just a suggestion... if you follow the FAA food plan as it's written, you won't be ingesting too much of anything, really. The key is "Rotate All Foods", as it says in the Guide to Abstinence. I like to have chunky vegetables with my salad to give it a little more "oomph", and I don't eat tossed salads all the time. I like trying mixtures of different veggies, like tomatoes & onions, or cucumbers & tomatoes, etc. Now that the zucchini is coming in fast and furious, I sometimes will have raw zucchini for my raw veggie with some Ranch Dressing. Here's a link for the dressing recipe from the "Abstinent Recipes" forum in Online Support:

I have DIVERTICULITIS and it's a big flare up right now bec of all the raw veg, salad, fruits etc. so have to go on liquid diet for a couple days and slowly reintroduce fiber.....warning to anyone who has this sort of problem (diverticulitis in past)....go on this food plan SLOWLY, not overnight....am on painkillers and grumpy, not my usual chipper self...but the food plan is great, that's for sure.....I just didn't use my head...I ATE THE GOOD STUFF THE SAME WAY I ATE THE BAD STUFF......bec I didn't weigh and measure things like lettuce, (iceberg lettuce is bad for me now I know)....so you live and learn, right? might be a good thing to add, seriously, though a warning to anyone who has had this type of problem, I know there is a warning in there somewhere about not changing your diet without consulting a doctor but most folks aren't going to do that...they just might not think of this too much fiber all at once thing...not blaming the food plan at all, just a problem I have...and I'll bet a lot of food abusers have it too...just saying lots of people try for complete abstinence all at once and it might really upset their colons.
