another duplicate, don't know how I keep making this same mistake, sorry. Remember EASY DOES IT?
I think the idea of abstinence scares people bec they think it has to be instant, just like everything else in life these days, like they are putting themselves in jail for the rest of their lives!!! Each day is a fresh start, you get to make that decision all over again every day if this is best for you, no need to feel pressured, or scared. And easy does it is best for some, some can't just cold turkey off s/f/w/ all at once....slow steps add up, too....get to teh same place.....less pressure, better results, I think. take it easy, follow the plan, go to meetings, read literature, and be kind to yourself.
