    Meal timing & metabolic adjustment

    Hi everyone. I'm brand new to FAA and the foodplan and was hoping someone could give me advice about the meal timing and the metabolic adjustment. I don't have a sponsor yet so was hoping i could find some help here. The timing of breakfast and lunch is fine but when it comes to dinner and the MA I'm not sure how the best way to time them is. Around my work hours I'm doing breakfast at 8am then lunch at 12.30pm then I am home from work between 5.30pm and 6pm so I can eat dinner by 6.30pm but I am in bed by 9pm (as I get up at 5 or 6am) so I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to eat dinner then have the MA only 2 hours later? Am I better off having a smaller portion of the MA possibly? Also there's quite a gap between lunch and dinner is it worth moving the MA somewhere in there instead and having a later dinner maybe? Any advice from anyone would be a huge help. Thanks so much, Sarah

    Some people do move the MA up to around 4pm (afternoon break at work) or eat it right before they leave work and then eat dinner an hour or two later than usual.

    It really is helpful to have a sponsor to talk to about food issues. My sponsors have been so helpful and have made so many wonderful suggestions.

    timing

    I have the same issues in the evening right down to the time you get up in the mornings. Do you have a sponsor who can help you? email me at faameeting@aol.com if I can help and leave you phone number.

    Hi Sarah,

    I agree with others: the best thing to do is to find a sponsor to help you. Really, one can't work the food plan without a sponsor: without a sponsor, the food plan is just another diet.

    I also go to bed early (I think a lot of people in FAA do, once we get abstinent, we start getting up earlier!) so I have dinner around 5/6 and then my MA around 8. But again--I'd get a sponsor ASAP and have her help you with the particulars.
