habits are hard to change. i was watching a program on tv about overeating and it said to eat with your non-dominant hand instead. because you then have to think about it more, you eat less... seemed to work on telly anyway!
how about deciding if you are wanting to eat s/f/w you will never DRIVE to the store to get it, but you have to walk. Might that put you off, or at least make it harder?
Also are you like me in this respect? If I was eating something I knew was not good for me I would cram it in as quickly as possible, barely tasting it. What about taking small bites and really savouring them? My mum always was told "you should drink your food and eat your drink" which means chew food until it is like a drink and not just gulp down drinks but hold them in the mouth and taste them. Anything to make the whole process slower.
I'm probably wrong to not say STOP EATING THAT FOOD THIS INSTANT! but life's not always like that. If you are in the grip of sugar, minimising the damage to yourself as you work towards stopping might be good? What do you think?
