    Stevia in the tea?

    Dear all.
I am a newcomer and I think I missed out the information about “natural sugar”. Is it so, that I shouldn’t use Stevia, honey, apple- and grapes syrup? What kind of “sweet” can I have in my tea?

I have been using some recipes for the “No sugar, no flour” diet and thought they would fit me as an FAA-person... They don’t?

    Warm regards, Frida

    Frida,

All of those "natural sweeteners" can set off the cravings for food addicts and aren't recommended. Sometimes I've put fresh lemon wedges into my tea or water for additional taste and have used them on my salads also. I also found that lime wedges are very good on salads with the olive oil. It took about a month before my taste buds changed and I began to enjoy the natural flavors of food and began to lose interest in adding more flavor.

    Dear Frida,

Have you seen the list of the different forms of sugar? It can be found in the Guide to Abstinence, which is where the suggested FAA food plan is also found. It's listed on the website and can also be found in the Newcomer's Booklet and the FAA Green Book. Here's the link to the food plan:

Syrups are on the list of sugars. In FAA, we found we were addicted to all forms of sugar, and Stevia would be included in that as well. I too found my taste buds changed once I gave up sweeteners. I honestly didn't think it was possible to live without them, but it is... and well worth it for the freedom!

So glad you're in FAA with us, Frida, and asking questions you have. Keep coming back! :P
